1. About us
24/7 Emergency Electrician Dundee provides emergency electrical call-outs in Dundee and the surrounding area. It is operated by SKYKAM LTD and is part of Dundee Sparks.
2. Call-out prices
Our current prices are published on the price list and confirmed on the phone before James sets off:
- Daytime (Monday–Saturday, 8am–6pm): no call-out fee. Labour £50 an hour in 30-minute blocks, with a £100 minimum charge covering the first two hours.
- Evening (Monday–Saturday, 6pm–10pm): £150, including the call-out and the first hour on site, then £45 for each extra 30 minutes.
- Overnight (10pm–8am), Sundays and bank holidays: £195, including the call-out and the first hour on site, then £50 for each extra 30 minutes.
- Parts are charged separately and agreed with you before fitting. No VAT is added.
3. Deposits
Evening, overnight, Sunday and bank holiday call-outs are secured with a £50 deposit, paid through a secure link sent by text before James sets off. The deposit is taken off your final bill. If James cannot attend, it is refunded in full, normally within 3–5 working days.
4. Cancellations and no access
- Cancelling before James sets off: no charge, and any deposit is refunded.
- Cancelling after James has texted that he is on his way: daytime — no charge; evening — the £50 deposit is kept; overnight, Sundays and bank holidays — £75 (the £50 deposit plus £25).
- Once James has arrived, the call-out fee (or the daytime minimum) is due, even if you decide not to go ahead, because it covers attendance and the first time on site.
- If there is no answer at the door or by phone within 15 minutes of James arriving, it is treated as a cancellation after he set off.
Some contracts agreed by phone or away from business premises carry statutory cancellation rights. Where you ask us to carry out urgent repair work straight away, the work may begin within any cancellation period at your request.
5. Approval of work
James explains what he has found and agrees the cost of any repair or parts with you before doing it. Approval can be given verbally, by text or by email. Where a fault can only be made safe on the night, the full repair can be booked separately.
6. Payment
- Payment is due when the job is finished unless agreed otherwise. We accept card, bank transfer or cash.
- No surcharge is added for paying by card.
- Invoices and receipts are provided on request and for all larger jobs.
7. Workmanship and materials
- Work is carried out with reasonable care and skill and in line with BS 7671 and other applicable UK electrical safety requirements.
- Supplied materials are covered by the manufacturer's warranty where one applies.
- Your statutory rights are not affected.
8. Availability
Calls are answered 24 hours a day. Emergency attendance is subject to availability, and response times are an estimate, not a guarantee.
9. Insurance
We hold public liability insurance. A current certificate can be provided on request.
10. Complaints
If you are unhappy with any part of the service, please tell us as soon as possible. See our complaints process.
11. Governing law
These terms are governed by Scots law, and the Scottish courts have jurisdiction where a dispute cannot be resolved by agreement.
